OPPO Reno 16 series drops July 2 in India — triple 50MP cameras with 3.5x optical zoom, IP69K durability, 6,500mAh battery with 80W charging, and a brand-new magnetic AMOLED accessory called the OPPO Bubble.

Key Highlights

  • Launching July 2 at 12 PM IST on Amazon and Flipkart
  • Triple 50MP camera system with 3.5x optical zoom
  • IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K quad water and dust resistance
  • 6,500mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging
  • New OPPO Bubble magnetic AMOLED accessory
  • India's first Holographic 3D smartphone design

OPPO is launching the Reno 16 series in India on July 2, 2026 at 12:00 PM IST. The lineup includes two phones — the Reno 16 and the compact Reno 16c — along with a new accessory called the OPPO Bubble, a circular AMOLED display that magnetically clips onto the phone. All three go on sale via Amazon and Flipkart.

Here's what OPPO has confirmed so far.

Camera — Triple 50MP with 3.5x Optical Zoom

The Reno 16 gets a triple 50MP camera system: a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom — a major upgrade from the Reno 15's 8MP ultra-wide. All three rear cameras support 4K 60fps HDR video. The front camera is a 50MP ultra-wide with a 100° field of view.

OPPO is also packing AI-powered camera features: AI Remix Collage, Pop Cam, Popup 2.0, and Dual-View Video 2.0. There's a new Dual Flash System for better low-light shots and a dedicated AI Snap Key on the side — a physical button that acts as a shortcut for camera features.

The Reno 16c drops the telephoto lens and runs a dual rear camera setup instead.

Display and Build — 1,800 Nits, IP69K, Holographic 3D Design

The Reno 16 sports a 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel running at 120Hz with 1,800 nits peak brightness. The Reno 16c goes slightly bigger at 6.57 inches but with a lower 1,400 nits peak.

Durability is a highlight: the Reno 16 series carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications — the same quad-IP rating we saw on the Honor X80 Pro Max. The frame is aerospace-grade aluminium with splash touch and glove touch support. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the display.

Design-wise, OPPO is calling this "India's first smartphone with a Holographic 3D design" — a Floating 3D Glitter finish on the rear panel with a 3D Pop Planet Design. Available in three colours: Starry White, Twilight Violet, and Stellar Purple.

Performance and Battery

The Reno 16 is expected to run on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage — the same chip powering the Reno 15 but paired with OPPO's latest software optimisations through ColorOS 16. Storage options should include 8+256GB, 12+256GB, and 12+512GB variants.

Battery is a 6,500mAh cell with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.4, LDAC support, NFC, and stereo speakers.

OPPO Bubble — The Magnetic AMOLED Accessory

Alongside the phones, OPPO is launching the OPPO Bubble — a small circular display that magnetically attaches to the back of the Reno 16. It features a 1.73-inch AMOLED screen and works as a viewfinder for the rear cameras, a remote control, and a customisable display for wallpapers and notifications. It has its own 550mAh battery, IP54 dust and water resistance, and a 10-metre Bluetooth range. Weight is about 27.5g.
